Music Therapy Lambeth (MTL) was set up in 2004 with the aim of promoting the development, growth and provision of a comprehensive Music Therapy service within schools in the London borough of Lambeth.
MTL aims to target provision at those children who we know will most benefit from this intervention. We ensure this happens by having a clear process of referral and assessment before ongoing therapy is provided. We work closely with the multidisciplinary teams involved in each school or Children's Centre.
MTL has particular experience in targeting the needs of children from Lambeth's migrant and refugee populations.
All our therapists are registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC). They receive regular supervision, have undergone Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks and undertake Child Protection training.
Our therapists maintain written and either audio or video records of the therapy process and will draw upon these to provide termly reports to parents and teachers.
